There are plenty of posts of people's photos of their trips and their boats... you just have to go look for them. They're pretty well mixed in with everything else...

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Feel free to post them in General discussion.

Can I ask AGAIN for a text only site with limted HTML? Put text ads on if you need to, but I haven't been able to get my Sailnet fix for over a week since all I can do when I don't have WiFi (which is most of the time now) is to use my satellite phone at 2400baud. I can't even come close to downloading the front page of sailnet with the satellite phone let alone one of the posts. Actually, with the flaky Internet over satellite they have down here on various islands it's ridiculously slow to access the site even when I don't do it with my phone. If you could make a satellite friendly/low bandwidth system you may get more cruisers participating.

forum layout

Wouldn't it make more sense to put the design and construction forum in gear and maintenance?
My reasoning is that they're both related to the actual mechanics of a boat, and since a good chunk of the posts in design and construction relate to projects and rebuilds it makes sense to have them together.

Personally I really dislike having forums 'hidden' inside other forums with no indication that they're there. Does this software have a limit on entries for the main page?

Ken.

No limit. I am trying to make them easier to follow, not harder. Some things obviously fit inside - others don't. Nothing is set in stone here.
