So all kinds of false them aruminum heads will blow up, yadda yadda on that newfangled motor..........Just use aruminum upon occasion instead of aluminum!

I do not hit a forum that seems to stay the same, unless it is a smaller VERY small user oriented setup, ie less than 10K reg posters. Once you start to hit much over that, much less over 100K like this one, or 300K or so on one I moderate on. Things get real phun! or is that "FUN" or some such thing. Then you get sock puppets.....what a pita some folks can be!

FWIW - I have suggested that the mods move this thread, and others like it, to Off Topic. This is not related to sailing. (I am also unsubscribing from this thread.)

Sea Hunter, I am sad to see you go as with any out there doing it cruiser, there are so few of us here. But hating to burst your bubble, it is my understanding that REP points are given for quality of threads started and post thanks received, You also get a Rep point for every calendar year of participation....You do the math. Hope to bump into you some time.

Re: I'm Done

Personally, I blame WingNWing for all of this. SHe's always so nice, has lots of great answers, is supportive, gets together with SN members off the board, etc. However, she does NOT have a Catalina and that is a major low point. Not sure I can ever get over it, really. Just watch, next she'll tell you she doesn't have two grills on her boat. I am just counting the days...

And what was it he said about post count? TDW... I knew it. He gets on my nerves too. I mean, come on! WHo would pretend to be a rodent of have a avatar of an animal as their user name. Wait... uh.. Marty? Well, bulldogs eat cute puppies.

Jeff? Catalina lover who never came out of the closet. Faster? Well, he's frozen half the year so what do you expect. DrFerron? Pfft. She is trying to take my best looking moderator title.

Bob Perry... uh... heard that name somewhere. Catalina 42, was it?

Smackmomma... she didnt tell you, did he/she? I have a pic I can post. It just takes this thread to PG-13.

I am all that holds this place together. If not for my modesty can you imagine where Sailnet would be?

On a more serious note, I have found a great bunch of people here. Lots of friends. Lots of good folks. I learn a lot and try to contribute my drivel and poor jokes as I can. I love anything about cruising with kids and the lifestyle in general. Its 1130 and just finished another PM to a member regarding something circa that. Sea Hunter asked how you can have 10000 posts, and there is your answer. I am absolutely passionate about this stuff and love talking about it.

This forum, my friends, is just a meeting place. Good people are here and there are the occasional jerkolas that the mods try to escort out or put in a corner (suggest ignores). But in the end, SN is what you make of it. If you want to imrprove it - do it! Add content. Talk about places you have been. THrow in a helping hand. Get together with others. THis has nothing to do with being loyale to SN... its about being loyale to each other as sailors and being passionate about our lifestyle. In the end, that's what its all about. I am afraid if you sit back and quietly wait for SN (or any forum) to be what you want it to be, you are in for a long wait. WHen you learn to take and give what helps you, then you will enjoy it.

In the meantime, have fun with it and participate or quietly read as suits you best. And if Smack sends you any PM's with pics, just delete them. There are some things even more potent than ipecac and keyboards get expensive.

Brian

PS SeaHunter, you have generated like a thousand+ views in a few hours and what... 70ish something likes?!?? Congrats! Sailnet is rocking!! BTW, what was the last post you took out that generated this many likes? Just curoius.

First of all, thank you for your service, second, I don't think people are jumping for joy over the hurt of a fairwell poster. Insult a group of people and expect some digs back. That's the rules of conversation in any language. The OP called an unspecific group of us crustations and, and ego something-or-others, what ever. It's too bad, the more sailors posting the more info gets thrown around and the more I can learn here.........except about anchoring, I have that down, just go big.
