Splash Page Meltdown

For the past 10 days or so, each time I return to the Sailnet splash page after a second it shifts to showing mostly code and none of the latest forum discussions. It seems as if one banner is corrupting the entire page. I cannot be certain if this is the actual culprit, though. After several attempts I finally get to the home page but it remains unstable: after reading a thread and returning to the home page I often experience the same problem again.

As an aside, is the large notice at the top of every page about VerticalScope really necessary? Frequent visitors probably enjoy this notice about as much as perpetual hiccups. Why not dedicate a smaller portion of the window to this notice (like making it a single line link), move it to the bottom of each page, or remove it altogether? Just a thought.

Have noticed an oddity with Ipad lately too..home page loads but thread field is blank white. Threads show up after selecting 'new posts'. (Ipad only as far as I've seen)

Re the notice.. you can close it with the "X" and it shouldn't come back for you after that.

Re: Splash Page Meltdown

Michael,
What I do, and what may work for you, is once you get to the home page, click on the "new posts" link under your name. That will take you to a list of all the posts since your last visit. Then you can navigate through everything from there. That avoids the homepage except as a landing page when you first arrive.

As Faster said, you can make the notice go away. I did that on one of the first days, and haven't seen it again except when I visit the site with a browser other than my default browser.

Thank you for the reports everyone. Hi Michael, what browser are you using by any chance? Please let me know as I'm trying to reproduce what you are seeing. If possible as well, can you please take a screenshot of the issue on the splash page and the large notice you are seeing? Thanks Michael.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

The large notice is the one announcing the sale of the site that was posted by VS when the site was turned over. It's located in the white space at the top of each page where, in the past, important notices were posted to all members. Unless you click the red X, it shows up on every page.
