Windarra44 - Sad loss.

For those who havn't seen the various posts in the SongChain thread it is with great sadness that I have to let you all know that last month, Steve (Windarra44 aka Windy) suffered a massive heart attack on board Windarra and passed away.

Windy had become a great mate of mine, largely through musical interests. He was from what I knew of him a good bloke and I'll certainly miss our interaction. My condolences go out to his wife Lisa, who was kind enough to let us know the sad news.

Re: Windarra44 - Sad loss.

I am sorry to hear of your loss. I was not familiar with Steve (Windarra44) but I do feel your pain. It seems to be a sad part of aging that with increasing frequency I have one of those, "He's gone?" moments as well known acquaintances, close friends and family sail beyond that ever so distant horizon.

I second Jeff's thoughts. There is no life without death, but it all comes for us far too soon.

Didn't know the man, but best wishes to his family and RIP.

Re: Windarra44 - Sad loss.

WOW! Just read this. I had many back & forth posts with Windara44...

Hopefully, he is sailing in a far better place with fair winds and following seas.

Is this Windarra currently in the Caribbean? I think a beneteau or J42 or similar?

Mark.. Windarra44 was a Californian SNer who really only posted on the Song Chain. Sadly he passed away last August unexpectedly.

If indeed you've seen him then perhaps there is a another life after all this!
