Fiberglass crack on seat

Thinking about purchasing a 1985 Catalina Capri 22. Is this fiberglass crack on the cockpit seats something to be majorly concerned with?

Nope. Just fix it. ..That doesn't mean that there aren't other things to check out ...

Re: Fiberglass crack on seat

Hard to tell, but it looks like the biggest problem is the PO's failed attempt(s) at repairing it.

It would be a VERY major concern while I was negotiating the price.

Re: Fiberglass crack on seat

Simple fix, but as dixiedawg said; a potential showstopper for the sale. Unless the price reflects the needed repair...

Re: Fiberglass crack on seat

It looks more like a poorly prep'd paint job over a hasty patch.

Look at the underside, if it does not go all the way through, just scrape off the loose material and redo. If a crack is visible from the underside then it may be a bigger problem.
