Re: Sailnet Suggestion Box

Many if not most active forums have a minimum post count before links and images can be posted as a way of filtering out 'drive by' spammers. It also normally helps keep drive by trolls at bay.

Most people accept it graciously and make their 10 posts or find work arounds.

Android ap does not work well and thats what I use 90% of the time.

The "new" post page doesn't really give all newest posts and is often filled with obnoxious newsreader posts.
There is no way to avoid off topic.
Brian's Key West post crashes the entire ap!
I cannot select a 'send private message', I must type in the name from memory

The cruisers forum android ap works significantly better as does sailboatowners

I am letting JeffJ know about this, but nothing I can do to fix.

Pet's Corner ?

I am not sure if that has been suggested in the past. There have been a few interesting threads regarding sailing with pets, particularly dogs. Some of them are - typical of sailnet - a brilliant source of information, some are just simply great because of the "awww" factor of their pictures. Could there be a dedicated sailing with pets sub-forum, please ?

Re: Sailnet Suggestion Box

Posted in tech support area already (I think). But, I'll kick it here as well.

IPAD chat ability.

Either it's available already, and I just don't know how to activate or it does not exist, in which case it's a recommendation.

Thanks in advance :-)

Dock
Sailnet Suggestion Box

We had it on iPad, people complained. It went away. I would love to have it back.

Re: Sailnet Suggestion Box

That's worse than I thought. I thought maybe it was not doable w/ this site on an IPAD. To have the ability and shut it down... Why not just have it disabled as a default so the user can decide on whether it's enabled or not... bummer...

Re: Sailnet Suggestion Box

Change user agent on ipad browser to work:
For safari, D was right, has to be changed tethered to a desktop. How lame is that. However, Mercury (free) just change user agent from menu on tab to whatever.
i see why people don't like it. W/out blue tooth keyboard the chat window is right up top.
W/ keyboard is fine.
