ABI copied Plath Windlass

The ABI manual windlass is a copy of the Plath Windlass. The model 7B to be specific. And they are both excellent windlass's.

ABI is gone. The Plath Windlass's have been built for over 50 years. And by Albina for 50 years before that.

Plath Windlass is prospering in Oregon.

Have a good day

Curious, I worked for Bob Burke of Amy-Burke Inc. (ABI) in Hawaii back in 1980 on the Meotai. This is the first I've heard that they are no longer in business...could you elaborate?
On another note, I have a Plath on my own sailboat and it has proven to be a wonderful windlass and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a solid reliable manual windlass.
Thanks,
Wiley

Plastic bags

Plastic bags. I really like them. Plastic bags are great. You need plastic bags on your boat. Go out and buy some plastic bags. Shiny, crinkly, waterproof, plastic bags.
