N.E. Florida, food & drink meet

I have hosted 2 get togethers in N.E. Florida in the last year. It's time again for another FALL BALL in N.E. Florida

The place is open for discusion, and so is the timing. I am in Green Cove Springs, and have hosted the get together both times. We did some grilling, told some lies, and shared some drinks for a late afternoon meeting into the evening.

If you are from the area, or passing through. It would be great to have a chance to meet you, and yours. All input is appreciated, and there will be members from CF as well

This thread is at Cruiser's Forum also. Any input on timing, and place is helpful. Everybodies input will help insure as many as possible can attend. We missed Capt. Force last year, and Vasco. Last year we had over 20 people in the fall, and even more in the spring.....i2f

There is ample dockage, parking, and a picnic pavillion at Oyster Creek Marina in St. Augustine. It is a little closer to the ICW as well. I had my wedding reception there. Let me know if you are interested in having the gathering there, I know the owners and dockmaster and can make the arrangements.

Hey I2F,

My wife and I live in Fruit Cove, right across the river. We're new to sailing/crusing, don't have have a boat yet.

I was wondering if the meet up was open to land-lubbers too?

Yes we have no prejudices against landlubbers. My computer has been in, and out of rehab for over a week, so I am posting on a borrowed puter occassionaly instead of daily.

I am going to check on another thread at CF, and will be back with possibly more information........i2f

I2F, I spoke with the owners of Oyster Creek Marina in St. Augustine about the possibility of having a Sailnet gathering and they were pretty hip to the idea. If you could come up with a good estimate of how many boats might attend, they would set aside dock space once you set a date and work out a reduced price on dockage for attendees. They also indicated that they may be able to do other things to help with the hosting.[maybe contribute food or drink] We did a low-country boil for our wedding reception there and shrimp prices off the boat are pretty low. I haven't forgotten. I am still dealing with no internet, except to borrow. I will google them, and check it out. It sounds nice. I should be back on line in a couple of more days.......... i2f
