Absent Friend

Received an email yesterday from recently absent SailNetter and AnythingSailor, Hartley18.

I have of course had the swine publicly flogged for his unwarranted absence and he is muchly apologetic, as so he should be.

Claiming that old chestnut, 'pressure of work' for his tardiness, he vows to be more attentive to lifes important issues come the holidays and wishes all his friends here and there, all the very best.

Truant...tardy.....it was the opportunity for a public flogging that got me going....any excuse as it were......
