Recommend addition to Runaway Diesel article.

The condition described in this article is not technically diesel engine runaway. I don't disagree, however, that the case discussed and suggestions provided are useful.

Diesel engine runaway occurs when the engine starts to run on its own lubricating oil. This could occur under any situation where lubricating oil is allowed to enter into the combustion chamber (a number of mechanical failures, turbocharger leakage, Crankcase Ventilation system). The actual occurence of true diesel engine runaway, however, is very rare.

The only way to stop a true runaway diesel engine is to take away the air. If the engine is running on lubricating oil then a fuel shutoff will do nothing.

This would be worth mentioning in the article so that those ensuring protection from a runaway diesel don't neglect an air shutoff by assuming that a fuel shutoff would be sufficient.

I would hate for someone to be completely at a loss why their engine runs away on them with fuel flow secured...
