the stat.ads component comes up three times and then stops one returming to the previous page by being listed in the previous pages, other sites download several pages or parts of pages without this.

Not noticing this.... can you provide more details.. exactly what you see, what browser etc?

I get it too.
Using Internet Explorer, I used to be able to go from the current thread back to the Sailnet - Search Results page by hitting the Back Arrow.
Now, when I hit the back arrow, nothing happens. I hit the drop-down carat next to it and am shown that the last several cycles have been registered as "http://stats.ads.is/stats?counter=129" and the counter number goes up with each refresh.
Not a Huge problem, but a bit of a PITA

it takes 3 or 4 tries with the back arrow to get back to the area I was reading. my status bar at the bottom says: http://stats.ads.is/stats?counter=129. Pretty annoying.

Guys, a lot of these recent 'ad issues' seem to be browser related. I'm using Chrome and have not seen any of it other than the Mercedes mess a few weeks back.

I realize that's not the answer, but maybe try a different browser just to see if the issues go away. That may help admin if/when they take a look at this.

When a site does not work properly with the most popular web browser on the planet the solution is not to use a different browser. I recently got a virus while posting a picture. Took me several hours to solve too. So now I think twice before posting with links or pictures. I have been on Sailnet for many years and am getting concerned it might become unusable. I hope not as it is my favorite sailing site and provides a terrific resource for boaters.
