Suggestion box -- ads blocking botton choices

Just so you know (in case you don't know already), the ads are sometimes blocking ones ability to select the "Quick Links" --> "Today's Posts" link.

Brad

Hey Smacky,

Back from cruising for a bit.

Are you interested in the marketing rights to the de-poopinator? They come in real handy at fall lay-up time.

Regards,
Brad

I get it SailNet, everyone needs to make a buck...but come on really...some of the placement of these adds are limiting the use of the tab functions!!!

It really F'in irratating...cant select the much under the New post button for example, or the quick links button!!!!

What's the point in having the options if you cant select them...???

The culprit is usually the add at the top of the page just under the button including the new post.

If you're using Firefox and this is happening: Update/upgrade to a newer version. That fixed that problem for me. If you're not using Firefox, perhaps you should be. Secondly: if you're using Firefox, install the Adblock Plus plugin. Anything that's still an annoyance can then easily be blocked. If you're not using Firefox, well...

What I did, until I upgraded Firefox and added Adblock Plus, was turn off Flash (Tools -> Add-ons -> Plugins -> Shockwave Flash: Disable) so I could get to the menu, and cloned the URL for the desired entry into my bookmarks.

Or you can just leave Shockwave Flash disabled. It's a security risk, anyway.

As for appealing to the owners of Sailnet to employ a bit of moderation in their use of adverts: I think that ship's sailed.

Edit to add: I just looked: I have eleven (11) entries in ABP: All of them from this one site.

Jim
