Centaursailor,

Happy St. Paddy's Day to yee. I took the liberty of using google maps to have a look at the fair town of Balbriggan on the Irish Sea's coast. Erin is so green, even on google maps and your town looks like a lovely place. I love the names of the places too: "Hampton Demesne" for one. We don't get to hear words like demesne over here too often.
I'd guess that your Irish Sea can get whipped up into a bit of a tempest sometimes. At least you have beaches on the shoreline near you - the west coast of Ireland less so, n'est ce pas?
N. Y. City, where I am will be a pretty busy place tomorrow night. The corned beef is already cooked so we are pretty much ready. I may get a few Guiness but what they sell over here is a poor facsimile of the fresh keg Guiness I tasted in Dublin pubs about 18 years ago.
Slainte!

Translation:
"Thanks" CalebD
As dorothy said to Toto, "There's no place like home."
"Good health to you, and" Smackdaddy and all Sailnetters
Enjoy the "fun and festivities", drown the Shamrock "and Long life to you."
"Happy Sailing."

Thanks Centaursailor!
Fun language, Irish. Wish I could read it or speak it.
What does "drown the Shamrock" mean or connote?
Never mind. I suppose it is obvious.

Maith thú,
I,m not an Irish speaker but it,s become very popular here in Ireland to mix in a fhocal or two of Gaelic. No hangover this morning due to moderation imposed by tabs for back pain. Just a couple of well spaced out pints.:D
Did get on Aurora for a look but still very damp so left her to air out a bit while I watched the parade in the spring sunshine.:)

Beannachtaí na Féile Pádraig oraibh!

Safe sailing.
