Hello Boston Sailors,

Please join the Pelagic Sailing Club for our June 23rd meeting featuring Chris Ferrer as he recounts his first-hand experience of the tragic loss of the sailing vessel Almeisan. Chris Ferrer tells us about the survival of those that remained on board. In early May 2005 the sailboat Almeisan departed Connecticut on a five-day voyage to Bermuda. Four days later during a powerful storm the boat was struck by a massive breaking wave, capsized and became crippled.

Chris' story has been written by Michael Tougias in his book “Overboard”: A true blue-water odyssey of disaster and survival.
