Problems posting photos

I've tried a number of times to post photos ... it creates an album, but the album is empty afterwards. I'm uploading a high-res JPG.

I believe for the SN albums there are file size limits... if you're simply trying to place a pic in your post using a photo hosting site like Photobucket works best. Simple, quick, free and non members (lurkers) will see them too.

I am not sure what photo editor you are using. Many have a post to web function. Since the screen resolution on most monitors is 72 dpi, there is no point to posting high-res photos.

unable to load my photos from my iPad and iphone

Hello:

For some reason I have been unable to post any photos. They just upload from my iPad and iPhone as white blank pages. My aviator loaded quickly and perfectly from the same photo section. Can anyone help me.

It really works best to post your pictures on a photo hosting site like photobucket and link to them in your post using the "IMG CODE" form of the link.

The in-house photo management here has it's limits.

Yes I agree. Complementing that information about photobucket that it is a free site if you don't post there a huge quantity of photos:

Go to

Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket

and join, it is free. Go to upload images, enter in your computer and upload the images.

Than on the site, below the images copy the direct link.

When you are posting on the superior bar there is a kind of a photo with a mountain and a sun. Click on it past the direct link and that's it.

An important detail: on the photobucket before copying the link click in "edit" (behind the photo)go to "Resize" go to "Pre-sets" and chose 800/600 if it is proposed to you having all photos in this size say yes.

This is important otherwise the image will be too big to sailnet and it will be difficult to see.

Regards

Paulo

Paulo... I use the IMG CODE option in photobucket and have never had to resize any images... it always comes into the post at a reasonable size, and some of these pics are pretty big files. Also I don't use the 'mountain/sun' icon, just paste the img code from PB.

Good advise. I use pbase (fee-based) and a couple of other sites. You might find that you have to add the .jpg extension when you post the photo.

Well, always learnig It also works as I said. I am going to try your way to see the results

Anyway I don't have to re-size because I have chosen the photobuck option to have all photos in 800/600. Some of my photos have more than 12mb.

Regards

Paulo

Another thing that helps is install an image resizer on your computer. This will help when uploading to some sites for hosting.

Image Resizer for Windows

If you use Linux you can find a similar one to install that works the same way. I use these alot! They save alot of time! No one cares about your GINORMUS Hi-Res pics but you...
