How come I can't see videos...?

All I get is the dreaded "red x" box when people post videos...

In particular on smackdaddy posts..."S/V Triumph" and "Rescue" threads....

I tried rebooting, refreshing, clearing cookies, no change...

I run IE8 and I'm not changing to firefox or mozilla or any such off brand browser..

I do pick up videos on other forums (direct from threads) so it seems to be a Sailnet issue..

Any thoughts..?

I don't have a problem on my computer, but on my phone, using the Android app, I can't view videos or attachments. Any tips?

Not sure about the phone apps, but I suspect any blocked videos/pics on a 'puter will be the result of your own security settings..

Hi,

Try the following for IE8 that your using

The "Show Pictures" setting may have been turned off in Internet Explorer.

1. Solution: In Internet Explorer's Tools menu, click Internet Options, then click the Advanced tab. Make sure the Show Pictures check box is selected under Multimedia, and click OK.

OR

Your Internet Explorer security settings maybe set too high, preventing you from accessing the web site which hosts the image.

2. Solution: Reset to the default security settings. In Internet Explorer, click on Tools -> Internet Options -> Security -> Default Level.

Checked the I Options...."Show Pictures" was enabled...I do see pictures, just no video or link to video on this site...

Security was at default level... no change..

But still not the SmackDaddy vids....

Can a moderator check the code and see if there is a difference in hosting sites...? that might be a clue as to why I see some and not others..

edit: I just noticed the above video is a YouTube link... Smackdaddy, what are you using..?
