groups subscription settings

Hello, I started a group here called st. augustine cruisers. I decided to go with sailnet as the platform over cruisersforum and yahoogroups and facebook, however we are having an issue which makes the groups feature kind of useless.

The problem is that the group members are not subscribed to the groups' discussions by default. i.e. when I post a new topic in the group, no one receives notification of it. So the members have to specifically log in and browse to the group to check and see if it has any messages. That means that no one ever checks.

Can you change the setting so that the default is that all new members are subscribed to all posts? I would be happy to provide them with a welcome message detailing it and their options to change it, with instructions, if necessary.

PS this is my third request. I sent to previous requests to helpdesk through the contact us link in the footer of every page that received no response. hopefully posting here will get a response.

Thank you.
