Given the discontent on the board, I think the moderators should have to turn in their Sailnet company cars, and be denied their annual bonuses.

I nominate BLJones as replacement Moderator...

I'm quite confident he'll make every effort to keep everyone in line...

Hey, how come nobody told me it was "Cheap Shot Thursday"?! This is my favourite day of the month, next to Pretzel Day and Sail Ironing Day.

There's a scary thought. Members would have to regularly send him "likes" to keep from getting banned for inactivity.
nccouple likes this.

Re: This is getting really old, really quick

I have to laugh a bit, A forum I mod on had a for sale add in the area I look after........A comment by a semi regular poster, "you can tell when Marty is at work vs not" Took me about 4 hrs from when it was posted to when I could delete it!

Spammers on the other hand, there are 4-5 folks pretty much round the clock that can delete them, I do not have, nor am I interested in being able to ban a person. That is life too!

In the mean time, considering the pay murderators get.......I'll keep my mouth shut......maybe, sorta, kinda!

Look, to set the record straight I wasn't taking a shot at the moderators- I was hoping to get some input from Admin. The site has been really glitchy lately, dropping out for hours at a time, and seeing the unusually large amount of spam at the same time made me wonder whether there was any correlation.

Absolutely. I've noticed a clear correlation between the spam/outages and the whining.

Admin? WTH?

Re: This is getting really old, really quick

I'll admit there has been some outages too, not sure of the reason unless the site is taking a big hit......

not that I saw the original by BL, only the edited one, maybe some of it is the "HOW" you said the original question........ie not in a way that gets a good answer per say......

Back to regularly scheduled something or other!

hope the current 10-20 kot breeze holds out for a race tomorrow instead of the variable 10knots.......

Re: This is getting really old, really quick

All I can tell you is that Admin have told us that the site has been under attack from Chinese spammers and that they are trying to sort it out.

Jonesy ... no offence taken on my part, lets just put it down to a bit of a misunderstanding, which I reckon you have already done. So please , back to Fuzzy or Andrew, TDW is way too formal for my liking.

I must say though that I've not noticed any glitchiness though the site was down for a while one day last week.

Anywho my friends, I'm off to the boat for the weekend.

Cheers all
