Super Slow in IE

Running IE8 and Sailnet forums are barely coming up. I've noticed a problem recently where leftad takes forever and that holds the whole page up. But today I see nothing for almost a minute, maybe more. No problems with other sites in IE8.

Try Chrome. You'll never go back to the 20th century browser.

Re: Super Slow in IE

Those two messages at the top of the screen seem to be slowly things down as well. Ever since I deleted them pages loads a little more quickly (Chrome).

Earlier today nothing loaded. Lots of Oops messages.

Re: Super Slow in IE

we will have to do some research on this to determine the cause but we have verified it. Google Chrome and Firefox have no such delays.

The easy work around that we have found if to switch to the "Article Style" forum template which can be found near the lower left hand corner of any screen on the website. see attached image as to how to select this.

Re: Super Slow in IE

In the for what it's worth department - any time you can abandon Internet Explorer in favor if either Google Chrome or Firefox you'll have a better browsing experience. Both of these browsers render newer sites much faster that IE because most newer sites including Sailnet use the Document Object Model and IE is somewhat challenged in that department.

In addition neither Chrome or FF attempt to do remote verification like IE does at start up which causes it to load slower and other browser have a wide variety of nice plug-ins like screen capture etc.

FF is my browser of choice simply because it's the fastest but Google's Chrome is right up there speed wise also.
