rename Diesel to Propulsion forum

I know it was my idea a couple of years ago.. But I've realized that it can be more inclusive to have a propulsion forum rather then just a diesel forum..
sometimes me thinks of things..

Well if you can get CD to stop burning crap on his six grills he may have a moment in between lunch and dinner to make the change? Then again...

Re: rename Diesel to Propulsion forum

Brilliant, Denise.

Not only will our Neanderthal members who adore their A-4's also have a home to post topics, but it would also include the other parts of the drive train like transmissions, sail drives, props/shafts, etc.

Makes a lot of sense to me.

Re: rename Diesel to Propulsion forum

but...but...but....

The Diesel forum is a sub forum of Gear and Maintenance, and there's also an Atomic-4 subforum there already

Maybe we'll soon need to add an 'electric/hybrid' subforum.

I hear what you're saying, D, but I kinda think we're covered with what's there. In any event that's an admin function so they'll have to put in their $.02. No objection to a 'propulsion' section per se, I suppose we could get rid of one subforum that way.

Re: rename Diesel to Propulsion forum

I was just thinking less is more; less sub forums = more activity on those that are more inclusive.

Re: rename Diesel to Propulsion forum

well, if we want inclusivity, dump the subforum entirely.
So, two years ago you wanted exclusivity, separating out diesel posts into it's own forum, now you want inclusivity.

I think if we have a diesel forum, and an A-4 forum, we should have an outboard forum and a saildrive forum. those headings will drive more traffic from the search engines, and since most of us who scour the posts use "today's posts" to get our fix, we're gonna find the posts no matter what the forum is called.
