Ads around the side I didn't mind, especially if they generate revenue to keep the site open. The damn inline ads especially on a mobile device played havoc with browsing. As a result I now run an ad-blocker, and no longer click any advertisments on here, the risks of over-advertising and aggravating your client base have been reached.
This wouldn't have been an issue if they limited the number of these links per post to only a few. When it totally ruined the flow of being able to read a long post I sought a solution.

Annoying users is never a great way to increase revenue. Albeit, they will have to decide if it is worth the effort... after all, it is their business, not ours.
