Can a new member recieve PM?

Often new members have no PM privilege because of the post count, can they receive PM messages from other members?

Re: Can a new member recieve PM?

I think that they will get an email notification if you send them a PM, so they can read it... but until they have the post count they can't initiate their own PMs and so cannot reply.. not sure if they can read the 'actual' PM on the site w/o the required post count.

Re: Can a new member recieve PM?

I respect what ever the policy the owner of sailnet set for their site. If the new member can't read the incoming PM, i wish the site will clearly state as such, so no members can send a PM to the new member.

Certainly... go to the appropriate engine forum (Diesel/Atomic4 etc), click on the 'new thread' button at the top of the list and submit your question.

Welcome, and I hope you get the help you need.

Re: Can a new member recieve PM?

I can confirm members can send a new member a PM but the new member cannot see the page that shows the message.

Thankfully with this post, I am one step closer to reading my message LOL

Re: Can a new member recieve PM?

My understanding from one of the mods posting in another recent thread is that a newbie must have 15 posts before s/he can read or send pms, except for pms sent to one of the mods. YMMV.

I think this is #13 for me.

Re: Can a new member recieve PM?

Is the reason new members are hotfooting it up to 15 posts so they can read a welcome message?
