Hartley .... plenty of reading and thinking time. Finished your last but I'm afraid it change nothing, indeed in many ways the reverse. We'll talk more about this. Downloaded a bunch of P G Wodehouse and Josef Conrad plus paper editions of Peter Ackroyd's History of England vol II and an absolute gem of a book called "The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared" by Jonas Johanson.

Have you read Slocum's 'Alone Around The World' lately?!? That's good for long-distance cruising inspiration (so are Mrs Brassey's books - but they're in a different class altogether).

Pompous is hardly the word for it! Whatever it is that you ARE you were missed. I can tell you that.

Speaking of pompous, you'd have to verify this with CruisingDad, but I believe the Enigma fellow was banned for being a pompous arse. It was actually kind of amusing to read this fellows ravings and the reactions he stirred up from the rabble. I just can't remember which off-topic thread he helped to hijack. CD ought to know.

Yessiree, that is the one. I knew it had a very meaningful and deep thread title and was started by one of SN's deepest thinkers: SmackDaddy.

The end bits of it were quite amusing where ol' Enigma kept spouting off about what I'm not quite sure.

Whatever you are reading on your Kindle-ish thingy is probably more interesting though. Don't tell me you have a Nookie?
