My guess would be to differentiate the button from "Like" buttons that are hooked up to Facebook, as this one isn't.

I agree that "Thanks" doesn't really work as it means something completely different from "like." If my above conjecture is correct, I would humbly suggest "enjoy" with a picture of a smiley face for the button - you click on the smiley and it says "SloopJonB and 3 others enjoyed this post."

b/c there's a high probability that the 'like' feature that was an add-on the the previous version of vbulletin was not rewritten for the latest version of vb3 that we had to upgrade to.
