Soon-to-be-published cruising adventures...

Hi again! I'm a published boating writer (magazines), but a newbie author. This section of the forum is a chance for me to gauge people's interest. I'm completing a nonfiction book about two sailboaters, a guy and a gal, and over a decade of their live aboard cruising adventures in the Bahamas and Florida Keys. There's the relationship element along with some wild experiences not covered in the good books and blogs currently out there.

The market's pretty solid with this subject, but I just couldn't help it. Creating a book is hard work & no way to get rich, but it sure is fun! Even more fun to share...
Here's more info. if you'd like. Once the book's published, you'll be able to find it on my website too!

Rebecca, we have self published three books and every word you say is true, publish because it is 'even more fun to share.' We write to share the action and adventure, and add touches of local history so often relished by readers and rightly so. But there's not much more than costs for newbie authors, plus the full load of self promotion. Tis a hard road unless you're on a mission, as we are to share the boundless beauty of Earth, and her adventures aboard a sea going craft of some heritage. Good Luck. If we can help, drop in for a chat. Sailing Adventures ~ Explore Earth with Jack and Jude

Sadly it looks like the campaign was cancelled, hopefully they're moving forward with the publishing in another fashion though

Yes, I thought as much myself but then thought a bit of encouragement while I beat my own drum might help, and definitely would not hinder. I am also on the cusp of a new book and am gathering my thoughts before the full frontal.

Nice to be at home, when afloat everything is so subject to change. So we're just taking a short celebratory breather before settling into life ahead. Cheers

In today's world I don't see how it could cost $10,000 to publish a book. Just self publish on Amazon or such. Yea, you won't get rich, but you get to share the words and you might just make a bit of money.
