New Book on Arctic tall ship

Ahoy! I have a book out entitled North star of Herschel Island: last Canadian Arctic fur trading ship. The book tells the 76 year history of the ship from her start in the Beaufort Sea being worked as a fur trading ship for the Inuit through to her careers in sail-training, surveying, oil and gas, environmental charters and even a Cambridge University charter to hunt for mermaids off of the Aleutian Islands. There is also a small section on my family's adventures with four children aboard - cruising the Pacific NW and participating in tall ship and classic boat festivals.
The book is published by friesenpress.com and is 500 pages long with 200 photographs. Easily found at above website or at other sites on-line as a hardcover, softcover or e-book.
All proceeds of book sales go to the ship's maintenance fund.
Book can also be ordered from her website:

Re: New Book on Arctic tall ship

This book goes a ways to explain why the 'true north ,strong and free' is still Canadian. Besides ,it was my stomping grounds for 5 years and I've had a close connection with NorthStar for many years. A good read about a time long gone.

Re: New Book on Arctic tall ship

Capt Len is far too modest. He has been a real help and a real friend aboard North Star with the past owner and ourselves, the current owners. Besides that he can keep you entertained for hours telling stories from his own adventures at sea.
