Painting An Atomic 4?

Hello All,

One of my first cosmetic projects for our new boat (1975 Northern 29) will be to clean, paint and tune-up our original Atomic 4 Gas engine. I know I'll purchase the parts from Moyer, but what colour was the original and where do you find this paint or it's equivalent please?
It might be posted already some where, but I haven't found it yet!

Cheers,

Moyer may know what it is and the colour.

Painting An Atomic 4?

Every one I've seen is a gold color.

Re: Painting An Atomic 4?

Moyer sells the original paint color; kind of a reddish gold.

Re: Painting An Atomic 4?

I'd call it copper. They look better painted white - it brightens up the engine compartment and makes leaks stand out better. That original colour is too close to the colour of rust for me.

Re: Painting An Atomic 4?

good point on making the leaks stand out. Last thing you want is oil pooling in your bilges
