Electronic Ign. - Indigo vs. Pertronix?

Any thoughts on the pros and cons of each? The Indigo system contains a lot of goodies to sweeten the deal, but the Pertronix system is self contained...

Ahoy Ereuter

The major difference is, with the Pertronix you can keep your points and condenser, then in case of a breakdown you can easily reinstall the point system. Oh and the price

As to reliability, they both are good units and perform very well. I have installed both systems in customers boats will little call backs from either.

The only problem I have found is with the coil. The original coil I am talking about. It seems the units eat up standard coils quite quickly. I would highly recommend the high output coils.

I am not a mechanic but a marine electronic engineer and I can even install them. That is how I figured out the coil problem on the first couple of installations.
