Cool atomic 4 mechanic needed in the tampa florida area

I recently purchased a 1968 tartan 34c that needs a total and complete never ending refit.. and I'm ok with that...

I need to figure out if the repower moyer marine model is worth fixing vs repower and need a little help.

anyone have an atomic 4 mechanic in the tampa area?

Re: atomic 4 mechanic needed in the tampa florida area

I'd suggest going to Moyer Marine Atomic 4 Engine Rebuilding and Parts and joining their forum. Many very helpful experts on all things Atomic 4. They'll give you an honest opinion.

Re: atomic 4 mechanic needed in the tampa florida area

I'd suggest learning how to wrench on it yourself if you have any aptitude at all. It's basically a lawnmower motor.

How long ago was the engine replaced?

What's wrong with it?

Have you done the standard compression, spark, and fuel tests?

(If you have zero compression, look at the valves first, they're visible through the spark plug hole)

And of course, you'll get lots of help at Moyer's forum.
