Fuel Pump
I am installing a new fuel pump. The new fuel pump came with a gasket. This gasket is for where the pump mounts to the engine.

Q: Can I just use the gasket, or do I need to use the gasket + silicone?

You wouldn't use silicone sealant on any gasoline fitting. Gasoline will curdle and release it. If the gasket is felt or paper or cork, you might use a gasket dressing that is rated for gasoline immersion (continuous exposure) but if it is a plastic or rubber type material, no gasket dressing/sealer is usually needed.

Throw the mechanical fuel pump away, or just use it without the actuating rod to seal the hole. Then buy a good electric fuel pump (maybe a spare and install it with a really big drainable fuel filter. No more than 3-5 psi will be fine.

if any component is installed correctly[with clean surfaces] and tightened properly a sealant needn't be used!!!!
