Thumbs down Strainer On Beneteau 34

I have 2012 Beneteau 34 and I am trying to figure out who the manufacturer is on the Raw Water strainer they use for the factory installed A/C unit??? The screen on my strainer has failed and I figured it would be an easy trip to West Marine for a replacement but NO. I have tried every major brand replacement end none fit. The bowl/screen on my unit is about a 1/4 inch too short and that causes ALL replacements screens to twist and fail when installed into the existing unit. Because of the location of the strainer it would be a bit of project to replace the entire unit with a known brand but I think that is my last option.
I have tried, Greico, ShurFlo and Jabsco but none work...

I have called Beneteau but have not been able to get the part number from them...

Any Ideas other than the obvious, Tear the thing out and replace?

Mine is a Sherwood. Look it up and see if it isn't the same one. WM doesn't sell Sherwood.

Re: Strainer On Beneteau 34

You might as well replace it with something more "standard" or well known. Cheap part.

Re: Strainer On Beneteau 34

Just because WM doesn't carry Sherwood doesn't mean it is some off brand. I have 2 on my boat. One that was already there on my water system when I bought the boat and then when I had AC installed a few years ago, my AC guy used one for the water pump.

Re: Strainer On Beneteau 34

As it turns out, I have a Sherwood Distributor right around the corner from my office/marina s and they have replacements in stock. I am heading over there tomorrow to pick a few up.

Thanks for all the great feedback!
