Seeking info on First 25.7 and 25.7 S
Hi all,

I've been looking at the used market for a Beneteau First 25.7 and have struggled to understand what exactly was upgraded from the 25.7 to the newer 25.7 S (or even from the 260).

Other that the fact that the older non S version has a reddish tinted wood interior and the S version has a white oak like wood finish, I can't see much of a difference.

Something I understand is that there are two engines available for these boats, a Yanmar with one cylinder and 9 HP and a 14hp with two cylinders. The later also features a more powerful alternator. These two factors sound like a big plus and seem to make quite a difference price-wise.

I have a question regarding the small ice box in the corner of the galley, more like a curiosity really, is it called an ice box because it can actualy produce ice cubes and keep some food frozen or it will just keep your beer cool?

Tanks in advance.

Ice box to me means container which you can add ice to, to keep things cold... ie beer.
Usually if designed properly it'll also have a drain (if it's a fixed ice box)...

Everything else that actively cools would be either an air conditioner (room sized) or a refrigerator (box sized). If it does a particularly good job of actively cooling, we'd call that a freezer.

Pretty sure that's universal code in RVs too.

I suppose ice box is a better term than waterproof cabinet with drain.

To ME this is an ice box (where you had to go to the store and buy blocks of ice)... or if you were really special dry ice... but whatever.
