Hi,

Would love to hear from any other owners of Beneteau 343 or similar.
Just taken delivery of ours and she is beautiful, currently being commissioned.
She should be on the water by Mid April.

Previously had a Ben 311 so would be interested to hear from anyone with any sailing experience on either boat.

I'm pretty new to sailing, just over a year and keen to learn more!

By the way i'm in the UK so weather not so warm here most of the year.

It Depends...

We first fell in the love with the Beneteau 331, but when the 343 came out we found it even more comfortable and roomy. It offered us everything we were looking for in a long term boat. We've had her since 7/05 and we are extremely happy.

The plus' for buying new, for us, were 1)we have about 15 years of sailing in us (age wise) so we don't have to deal with trading in for a boat we really want in several years, and 2) this is our first boat, and we really wanted to start out with a boat that we could get to know inside and out without having to deal with prior owner, old boat headaches (we have enough of that with our old house). It's a matter of making a list of the pro's and con's, and deciding what's important for you.

There is a Beneteau 343 group at Yahoo that we invite you to join (one of our members is from Singapore).
Good luck with your decision!

Hey guys we just purchased a new Beneteau 340 2010 it has great space compared to our First 285 that we were sailing. We are all quite impressed with the amount of room we gained. The aft cabine is a king sized berth, we have 80 gallons of water in the tanks and 20 in the holding tank. We added hydronic heat system and and a bimini and a doger and a wind sheld and AGM batts. Quite a boat we averaged 7.3 Knots of boat speed in 17 to 20 knots of wind quite a ride!!!!
