Replacing furling line in a 331

Hi,

I have a Beneteau 331 with in-mast mainsail furling.

I need to remove the furling drum to replace the furling line. The manual says to disconnect the drum from the furling extrusion that the mainsail furls on to in the mast, but I can't reach the bolt, and there does not seem to be clearance to remove it.

I'm thinking I'll have to cut the bolt off and take it out in pieces, and then replace it with two shorter pins when I'm done.

Has anybody done this? Does anybody have any suggestion on how I should proceed? Any help would be appreciated.

Boris

Boris, this Beneteau forum is by far the less visited. Go and post your question on the Gear forum, and chances are to get answers. I really believe Beneteau owners are outthere sailing and having fun. All of them. With no/little worries ...
