Club Beneteau of Florida - Save It

If anyone would like to take the reigns of the Club Beneteau of Florida non-profit organization, please respond before the end of business day on Monday, July 21, 2008. We are planning to close all accounts related to the club. We cannot organize this alone for another year. The small amount of “dues” monies that are left will be given to a sailing charity or other non-profit sailing organization. So if there is some Beneteau sailor or dealer here in Florida that would like to keep this club operational please do not hesitate to contact us. Jeffrey54@comcast.net

Thank you

Fair Winds and Safe Sailing

Jeff :

So sorry to hear that the sun is setting on the CBF...although I can't say that I'm too suprised.

As it is with us here in the Great Lakes...with virtually no participation or involvement from Beneteau USA (although our local Ohio dealer's been great...), our individual effort to organize some sort of an association where it makes sense to belong, falls on those of us with the ambition to create something locally as an isolated & individual effort.

In short...this is a pathetic situation that need not happen if only B'USA would assist us to be better organized through a central website for Club Beneteau USA/Canada.

I really hope that someone at Beneteau actually reads this, & then refers it to Erica, or even Wayne...as I'd love to suggest how they could help us to not just own...but to actually belong to Beneteau as well !!

Perhaps in doing so...little pockets of Beneteau owners in places like..."Florida" might just have a few friends with the same sort of boats to be friends with...might encouage their friends to buy Beneteaus...might share information about how to solve common problems...AND...might not buy another make when it's time to trade.

Of course, that's something that (I'm sure) the folks at Catalina are hopeing they never do...& so far, they're getting their wish !!

P.
