Hard to read GPS-331

We have a 2004 / 331 (purchased in 2008) and find it very hard to read our Raytheon C-70 GPS due to its flat mounting angle at the wheel. Only on cloudy days or when the bimini is up can it be read. Has anyone else experienced this and found a remedy?
