1989 Beneteau Oceanis 390

My husband and I are considering purchasing a 1989 Beneteau Oceanis 390. We would like to do offshore/bluewater cruising with it. Does anyone know the offshore/bluewater reputation for these boats? It has been outfitted for offshore, just not sure if the hull, etc. are really designed for this sort of sailing.

Any advice, opinions, etc. are welcome.

Here's a couple of web sites that will give you the specs for the boat. Keep in mind that you can't go on numbers alone. There are a number of Beneteaus that are out blue water cruising. More important than numbers would be your skills, how the boat is equipped and the ability to forecast bad weather and avoid it. You might also try asking the same question on The Cruisers Forum. Im having a pretty hard time finding any info about the bene 390 there's either not many of them out there or the owners don't seem to be very active in any forums. Seems to be lots of 393 owners but not sure how close the two designs are. So how about it any 390 owners on sailnet.
