beneteau 21.7

Hi, this is our first post on sailnet and would appreciate any advice and information. We're looking at buying the first 21.7 as our first boat and would like to ask for advice on outboard engines and the size. We are looking at a four stroke but not sure on horse power. We would like something that will not be straining but not too small that will struggle with four crew members etc any experience etc would be appreciated, many thanks Graeme

like you this is my first post.. i too am looking at buying a 21.7. not actually been out in one yet but having researched the for sale sections on line , almost every boat for sale is fitted with 5-6hp LS four stroke engine. presumably there would be other sizes on a few if people had struggled with the performance from 5-6hp? so my guess is that is about right 6hp. probably also if you increased from 6hp it was just push the boat further down in the water?
