Has anyone had these concerns
I have never heard of Beneteaus losing their keels or coming apart from the hull. There are manufacturers who have had made design decusions which resulted in keel bolt or keel encapsulation issues. I have not heard of Beneteau in that regard.
I have also never heard of customer support problems. I have heard of customer support issues with Hanse, and Bavaria. To a lesser extent I have heard of problems with Hunter, and in the old days Pearson, Oday/Ranger as well.
In my dealings with Beneteau support, at least here in the US, their support is amazing. I helped a friend deal with a series deferred long term maintenance issues on his Beneteau 38s5. Obscure parts were readily available at very fair prices. Beneteau support personnel were willing to spend quite a bit of time on the phone talking through repairs and upgrades that were not a design or construction problem, yet which required knowledge of how the boat was initially constructed to allow a simple solution.
What I have seen over the years is reports that the Beneteaus with cast iron keels sometimes lose sections of their fairing material, which is a non-structural maintenance issue.
The only think I can think you might possibly be referring to is that perhaps a decade ago or more, there was a widely circulated video of a Beneteau which ended up pounding on a beach and eventually lost its keel. There was also Beneteau which lost its rudder and took on water after striking something between Annapolis and Newport. I think that boat was later salvaged.
It would be helpful to be more specific if you have particular examples that you know of.
