CS30 vs. CS33

I was looking to buy one of the two and was wondering how the CS33 performed on the racecourse in comparison to the 30. I know that the 30 is known for it's performance but I haven't seen too many 33's raced. We're looking for a boat to club race, race on the weekends and take for the odd day cruise. Located in Great Lakes/ light wind area. Any opinions would be much appreciated.

sailingfool will become famous soon enough
I would consider the CS 30 a better racer than the CS 33/36T, especially for a light air venue. The CS 33/36T design/build features a heavy boat which makes a solid all round racer/cruiser, and wonderful medium-heavy air performance, and you can happily plan to go to Bermuda if you want to...but it sounds like the 30 for you.
