Okay I think I am going to buy a Haida 26' for $2000. Her name is Keet. Keet is Na-Deme, the Haida language, for Orca. She comes with a Honda 8hp 2001 four stroke with an alternator. The motor went to the dealership for $1200 maintenance last year.

She has a couple soft spots in her deck, really, a couple small ones.
The floor inside is rotten and needs replacement and non-structural stringers.
The head was removed.
The rudder needs some work. The wood in the head is cracking. Going to try epoxying it back together.
The slide-open ports leak.
Some things need backing plates.

Those are just the things that I need to do to be comfortable sailing her around here.
TO go offshore I need a new suit of sails, new standing and running rig. New keelbolts, an extra rudder, and a few other things.

She is really in pretty good condition. Well loved.

Turns out that I know now that KEET is Tlingit for killer whale. I am not sure if Keet is also Haida for killer whale, not a linguist.
