the "story"

this boat had sat unloved in the texas heat for over 5 yrs, last yr, i made 'em an offer and bought it.
I cleaned her up, gave some motor love and splashed it.
now, its for sale.
Its one of those "classic" boats that if someone has seen, or been in, or been passed by one, they want one.

Nothin' wrong with stinkpots, IMO. It's their owners that are the problem.

We bought a small stink-boat last season. Wanted something to get us places on the lake that a boat with 5' of draft simply cannot go; for those days when it was hotter than the hinges of hades, with humidity to match, and no air, and, let's face it, when we just wanted to get from Point A to Point B quickly. (She tops-out at 39 kts on flat water .) And I gotta admit: That little 18' (5-1/2M) bow-rider is a hoot! .

Never fear, tho: We're still sailors, first, and when we talk about "our boat," we're referring to Abracadabra.

Aye, its the owners.
Personally, I do love blowing by some 30 sub woofer equipped clorox bottle with zippy graphics, leaving the tanned/toned wannabes muttering "what the hell was THAT!"

That shiny hull? thank you ever so much, poli-glow.

Jim,

I'd love to have something along those lines too. We're juggling some house projects at the moment, but when we're done in a year or so I'm going to start sniffing around.

Paul, Very nice!

Our little stink-boat (we almost named her that, btw, but I couldn't quite bring myself to insult the little girl like that, so she's going to be named "Shazaam!," instead) has a sound system on her. (Came complete with "A Decade of Steely Dan" in the CD player. I'll forever associate "FM" with that boat, now.) I'm going to add the 2nd set of speakers further back in the cockpit. A proper stink-boat has to have an obnoxious sound system, no? (No sub-woofer, tho. Well... probably )

She's real pretty, CP. The classics always turn my head, whether sail or power, when they go by.

Wait, I thought it was the pink/wrinkly seniors that were wannabes on the tanned/tone thing.

Dude, at least you're selling the thing. Now go buy a sailboat and let's race!

Drop me a line when you're ready to start looking. I might be able to share some hints with you from what I learned as we researched them.
