1981 Stevens 47 For Sale

1981 Stevens 47 For Sale
Due to illness our cruising is being curtailed.... Lillie Mae is for sale.

She is a 1981 Stevens 47 and is in turn-key cruising condition. Ready to go. I spent over $100K and well over 2 thousand hours renovating and upgrading this boat, she is the best equiped Stevens 47 out there. This boat will take you anywhere.... with all the goodies.

UPDATE: I finally got a ton of cosmetic work done and now have a new website giving full details and over 75 pictures.

Hope you (or the ill party) makes a full recovery. There is constant discussion on this board about really good long-distance cruising boats - here is one that appears ready to go. This is a really good design and extremely well-equipped (lots of new stuff rather than good old stuff),

Don't know the owner or the location of the boat but worth a look if you are in this market.

Thanks for the comment.

She is truly in turn key ready to go condition, a great sailing boat. She currently lies at Jekyll Island, GA but I will likely move her up to Savannah soon or possibly up to the Chesapeake. I would be willing to aid a new owner in delivering the boat anywhere on the east coast... or maybe anywhere else. The refit just completed cost over $100K and that does not include any labor.

I am not in an emergency scenario looking to dump the boat fast... but I am flexible on price.

Lillie Mae is getting lots of new interior varnish and a re-finished cabin sole. I expect to have her in the Chesapeake by mid to late August.

Contact me via email to schedule a time to see her!

Lillie Mae is SOLD....

From the time I got her cosmetics finished and started really marketing her through to having her sold and delivered took less than 2 months, I got 95% of my asking price, no broker commissions paid and I had 8 other potential buyers as backups wanting to view the boat. How? Email me for info. terrycspringer@yahoo.com

What I have learned through this entire process is primarily that the "accepted" method of selling yachts is amazingly messed up and inefficient.

Good news. My last boat was a 1986 Hylas 42 and I was surprised of the similarities with your boat. The galley is identical.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
