Proven Offshore Spencer 35 for sale

Here's a solid offshore capable boat for a reasonable price. Whisper was owned by the late Hal Roth and cruised far and wide including Cape Horn.
Solid fiberglass decks without coring and fully glassed hull/deck joint. The toerails are elevated above the deck and bolted to the stanchion bases with a gap under for water to drain. In need of interior work but the price is low and probably open to offer. I have no connection to this boat but I know Spencers well and it would be a good boat to head offshore in. Similar to Alberg 35/37.

O...M...G.

I got Hal Roth's How To Sail Around The World at last year's Seven Seas Cruising Association (SSCA) Annapolis Gam ... and Margaret Roth signed it for me. She was at this year's Gam, too - generally accepted and treated like the Queen Mother, and justly so.

Hal went to some lengths to discuss the changes and imporvements they made in Whisper, and there's no question the boat has "been there and done that". The asking price does reflect age and need for sweat equity - but this is a piece of history, in its way.

I wish I had the skill to bring Whisper back to her earlier glory and sail her "beyond the sunset" again. Or maybe all that I'm really missing is the audacity - the "guts" to go forth and do it.
