Wanted Ericson 32-3

Anyone on the West Coast contemplating selling their Ericson 32-3? It's the model produced between about 1985~1989.

If it's been given adequate love & been consistently well cared for, please give me a yell....

Lightbulb Plan B

Not ever many of these for sale at any one time. Your "wanted" ad at EY.org shows 99 views today.
If you like the classic interior with head forward, you ought to be also looking at the Ericson 33RH.
I have sailed both and both are good sailers.

The E-31C would be about the same "size" by displacement, also.

Expanding your search parameters might be a good idea.....

Plan C might be to look into an Olson 34.... we were not looking for one when we wandered into ours, in 1994.... and still have it! (Before that we had on offer rejected on an Ericson 32-200.)

Loren,

You've sung this refrain before. Ya know, I have a short list of about 5 or 6 boats ranging in size from 28 to 33 feet by various builders that I'd like to buy. I've arrived at this list after viewing, researching & scrutinizing the details of many different sailboats & have arrived at certain opinions about certain boats, the Ericson 32-3 is but one of them.

I figure I must have picked the 5 or 6 best boats (of a given vintage) that were ever built, cause they're ALL so darn scarce on the market, people probably love them & keep them.

Nevertheless, I sail often with others & needn't be hasty. When it comes to buying a boat for myself, well, I guess I'm a little too fussy...must be the designer in me. And you never know....one of those 99 views may just have my boat!

Thanks for all your advise & support,

So what boats are on your short list?

There is a super-clean looking '85 Ericson 32 on Yachtworld.com lying in San Diego:

Thanks Keelhaulin...I'm aware of it. It got an offer on it before I could even get down to see it.

Imagineer, Welcome to the Sailnet.com(munity).
So what boats are on your short list? If you are looking at Ericson 32-2 or 200 or MkII and like the narrower hull, and old solid sailboat lines with aft overhang on these seventies boats, also look at the Endeavour32, Irwin32, Pearson31 all these boats when maintained and often upgraded by the PO are similar to the Ericson with the gas A4 and similar motion and capsize ratio's as well as cabin layouts and maybe a little faster sailers.
Let us know what your short list is/was.
