tough decision

I am considering two boats for great lakes sailing and am having a difficult time coming to a final choice. The first is a Tartan 3400 and the other is a Jeanneau 36i. I wonder if there is anyone with experience in the Tartan on the great lakes, particularly Lake Ontario?
