Hans Christian 38 for sale - Brisbane, Australia

My Dad's boat has just been listed on YachtHub:

Used Hans Christian 38 Limited Edition Sailing Yacht for Sale | Yachthub

This particular "floating apartment" is in immaculate condition (brand new rigging being the least of it) ... it's just that, after joining RQYS and getting involved again in club races, it seems the old urge is back and the HC just isn't that kind of yacht!

Any takers??

You?!? Nahh, don't worry, TD. Just like the call of the sea, it takes repeat exposure to get the racing bug.

My Dad has skippered several Sydney-Hobart racers (up the front of the fleet) and done a Trans-Pac once, not to mention all the small stuff in between.. but that was years ago. And here I thought he'd settled down! It appears not.

Of the boats??

I'm a tad reluctant to put them out there on-line but they're on the Rolex Sydney-Hobart site already, so no harm I suppose: "Ruthean" (when I was but a young tacker) and "Spirit of Queensland" (when I was a bit older..) are the public-domain ones. The best pic I have of that era is one taken by a press photographer of him leading the fleet out the heads.. I must show you sometime!

I'd like to think some of his skill rubbed off on me - but maybe not...

Hey Hartley,
Remember when we were angling to do the delivery to Qld ? Such a shame, that would have been a seriously good thing.
