express 35

Hi

I currently have a Pearson 30 and was interested in moving up to a bigger boat for cruising and maybe some racing. Does anyone know about the express 35 ; there is one for sale in my area. I would be sailing mostly with my wife and friends.

are you sure it is not a 34? if it is a mislabled 34, find puddinglegs as he has hull #1. He may also know something about that boat too.

The Express 35 is a Gorman Express (Ontario CAN), not an Alsberg Bros. Express. (Santa Cruz CA)

Click some more and you'll find there are 3 versions of the E-35 including one with a shorter keel and smaller rig.

I've never seen an Express 35, but the specs for the deeper keel versions look good!

The Goman Express boats were designed by Steve Killing, a respected Canadian designer. I've not seen a 35 either, but we had a 30 in the area that was quite competitive.

I too like the look of the layout and the specs.. rare around here but I would think that boat would be on my 'list' too if I was shopping.

To the OP... if this is still on the market, it should also be on your list, especially if it's hull #1 (the only O34 built by Pacific Boat Works... lighter, better glass work and build quality than the Ericson boats, but they're not bad either :

We have owned an Ericson-built Olson 34 since '94. High quality construction and excellent parts and systems pieces were used. The only Pacific Boats one built rates the same 99 as the Ericson ones. As the years add up, I am just glad that all the Ericson ones are solid hull and not cored. One less worry on the list.


Having been aboard some Pacific Boats models of the 911S, I would agree that they finished their boats out a bit better, but would not agree that their "quality" was any higher.
