HOWEVER - Bacon Sails in Annapolis carries the exact same kind (100% identical), apparently some company bought or has a line on identical ones under a new name. You could email or call Bacon and see if they would ship to you, I would guess they would. Ask for Gavin at Bacon.

Hope that helps!
Many thanks ...

So that's it, we're officially without a boat for the first time in years. No slip fees, no storm worries, no insurance, no brightwork to maintain... also no sailing or access to the water anymore - for awhile at least. We're just civilians now, looky loos..

It was hard. They snapped a pic of us for the last time on Herons decks today. I haven't seen it yet, they will email it to me. I bet we look sad though. We're ready to begin anew again, and we're excited about taking on the next thing, we really aren't the look back types. Heron was an awesome experience.

I will miss my beautiful Heron, and I wish her the very best with her new owners, new adventures and new horizons. Thanks girl!

If you two ever make it to Hawaii, drop me a line and will go sailing.
Regards

I actually was on the east coast (VA, MD, NY) for the July 1-21. Was going to contact you but just to busy with the kids and visitng family and just ran out of time. That and the fact it was between 95-104 F real temp every day with little wind- too hot for pleasure sailing (at least for me). We did take the kids out on the pirate ship in Annapolis-they had fun. Maybe next year, but if you two make it out this way, the boat is waiting.
Regards

Nice LL66

Casey: Sorry we couldn't connect this time around, maybe next time on one side of the earth or the other...

I hear you on the heat thing - I have been riding around in a car with no ac since last year, and I have grown to hate the sun and all it's boiling yellowness. This year has been a hot one in these parts, no doubt.

Yea, somthing definitely up with the weather. Friend in Florida used this type of a set-up. Looks like the heat wave has broken for now.

Chris,
Just saw "ex boat owners" in your sig on another thread and went looking for the answer.

Hope the new owners appreciate what they purchased.

Good luck on your next project whatever it may be. I'm putting in my vote for the Sopwith Camel.

Jim

Re: Alberg 30 for sale - extensive refit over 2011/2012, very nice boat

I have a 1968 Alberg 30 named Heron located in Rockport, Maine that had a total refit in 2007 (new Algripped hull, new faired and painted bottom, new cabin cushions, new main, new jib, new 3 cylinder Beta Marine engine (currently with 75 fresh water hours on it), bright exterior teak, looks and sails like a dream and as far as I am concerned), the the boat is in practically new condition, with radar, GPS, depth, knot , spinnakers etc. The point that I am trying to make is please, please do not confuse my Heron with the one with engine problems. The Beta Marine diesel runs great, is quiet and consumes only one gallon of fuel every 4 hours at cruising speed of 1600 RPM and 5.5 knots. The boat is a real head turner and performs that way. Truly a turnkey boat that we have sailed in breezes ranging from 1 knot to 50+ knots.
