Looking for a 1997-2000 HUNTER 340
I'm looking to purchase a 1997-2000 HUNTER 340. I live in NJ but will to go most anywhere in the northeast.

There's at least a half dozen listed on Yachtworld on the east coast.
if you like the layout of the Hunter, you should check out the Catalina 34 as well. Pretty much the same layout but reversed with the galley and aft cabin door on the starboard side and head to port side. |

Have you sailed one? They are a pretty slow boat - PHRF over 150 is pretty high for a contemporary 34'. A friend and his ownership group bought a new one back then and sold it after two seasons because of its poor performance - they are a bunch of geezers too, not racers. They bought a current model Hunter to replace it.

Looking at the PHRFs of the big 3 (Bene, Catalina, Hunter), 150 looks about average for a boat around that length. Certainly 150 doesn't stand out as slow in that group from what I could see.
